Union Square Station is a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station located beneath San Francisco's Union Square shopping district. It is located at the intersection of Powell and Stockton Streets. The station is one of the busiest on the BART system, serving over 20,000 daily passengers.
The station originally opened in the early 1970s and underwent a major renovation in the 1990s. It features three levels, with the upper level housing street-level entrances and exits, the concourse level housing fare gates and ticket vending machines, and the lower level housing the train platforms.
From Union Square Station, passengers can access various shopping, dining, and entertainment options in the surrounding area. The station is also an important transportation hub, with connections to several Muni bus and cable car lines.
